Terms of Service
Last updated: 18 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and CMF Ventures Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under number 12100140, whose registered office is 79 Fawe Park Road, London, England, SW15 2EG ("we", "us"), for your use of the Traf app and website (the "Service"). The Community Rules and the Privacy Policy form part of these terms. By creating an account you agree to them.
1. Who can use Traf
1.1 You must be at least 13 years old, or older where the law where you live requires it: 16 in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Australia, and 18 in South Africa.
1.2 Prize leagues are open only to people aged 18 and over who complete the age check we ask for, and may be limited to certain countries. Their own rules, published at gettraf.app/prize-rules apply to them as well as these terms.
1.3 You may have one account. The information you give us must be accurate, and your username must not impersonate anyone.
1.4 You may not use Traf if you are barred from doing so under the law of the United Kingdom, the country you live in, or the United States, including if you are in a country subject to United States sanctions or on a United States list of prohibited or restricted parties.
2. Your account
2.1 You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address. Keep access to that email address secure; anyone who controls it can sign in as you.
2.2 You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Profile. The Privacy Policy explains what deletion removes.
3. Your content
3.1 You keep ownership of everything you submit to Traf: recordings, photographs, comments, messages, titles and the rest ("your content").
3.2 You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, display and play your content, for as long as it is on the Service, so that we can run Traf. That includes:
- showing and playing it to the people who can see it in the app, and to anyone you send a share link to;
- sending it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy, including third-party artificial intelligence services, to check and score it, write its title and commentary, and make your portrait;
- using measurements of your recordings, and the ratings given to them, to train and improve the Ripter Scale, our scoring model.
3.3 By accepting these terms you agree to your recordings, the measurements of them and any photograph you upload for a portrait being processed by those third-party artificial intelligence services, as the Privacy Policy describes. Without that agreement we cannot score rips or make portraits; if you joined before it was part of these terms, the app asks for it before your next rip.
3.4 The licence ends when your content or your account is deleted, except for copies in backups until they expire, results frozen in past season leaderboards, and what the Ripter Scale has already learned, as the Privacy Policy describes.
3.5 You promise that you recorded your recordings yourself, at the time you submitted them; that you have the right to submit your content; and that anyone else identifiable in it has agreed to its being there.
4. Scores and generated text
4.1 Scores, titles and commentary are produced by our scoring model, by people's ratings and by third-party artificial intelligence. They are for entertainment. They can be wrong, inconsistent or odd, and we do not promise any particular score.
4.2 In private leagues, other members' ratings decide a rip's score once anyone has rated it. In open leagues, the Ripter Scale decides.
4.3 If something generated by artificial intelligence is offensive, tell us through Send feedback in the app or by email, and we will look at it.
5. Behaviour
5.1 You must follow the Community Rules. We may remove or hide content, limit features, and suspend or close accounts as the Rules describe.
5.2 You must not interfere with the Service: no scraping, no automated submissions, no attempts to get round limits, scoring checks or security, and no reverse engineering except where the law allows it.
5.3 We may set and change limits on how often features can be used, to keep the Service fair and affordable to run.
6. Challenges and stakes
6.1 A stake in a challenge is a promise between the people taking part, on their honour. We do not hold, transfer or enforce stakes, and we are not a party to them.
6.2 Stakes must not involve money, gambling or anything unlawful.
7. Paid features
7.1 Traf is free. If we offer paid features, they will be sold through the App Store or Google Play, the price and terms will be shown before you buy, and that store's terms will apply to the purchase.
7.2 Nothing you buy will affect your chances in a prize league. Entry to prize leagues is always free.
8. Changes to the Service and these terms
8.1 Traf is a new service and will change. We may add, change or remove features, and we may end the Service. If we end it, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get a copy of your data first.
8.2 If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you do not agree to the change, you can delete your account.
9. Our responsibility to you
9.1 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Nothing in them affects your rights as a consumer under the law of the country you live in, including the Australian Consumer Law and the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act where they apply.
9.2 Subject to 9.1, the Service is provided as it is and as available. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for loss of data you could have kept yourself, or for what other users do or post.
9.3 Subject to 9.1, because Traf is free, our total liability to you for anything arising from the Service is limited to £100.
10. Ending this agreement
10.1 You can stop using Traf and delete your account at any time.
10.2 We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms or the Community Rules, if the law requires it, or if we end the Service. Sections 3.4, 9 and 12 continue after your account ends.
11. If you got Traf from the App Store
11.1 These terms are between you and us only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for Traf and its content.
11.2 Your licence to use Traf is non-transferable, and limited to using it on Apple devices you own or control as the App Store Usage Rules permit.
11.3 We, not Apple, are responsible for maintaining and supporting Traf. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
11.4 If Traf fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund any purchase price you paid for it. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to Traf, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses arising from a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility.
11.5 We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to Traf or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that Traf fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
11.6 If a third party claims that Traf or your use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
11.7 You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Traf, such as your mobile data agreement.
11.8 Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and once you accept them Apple has the right to enforce them against you.
11.9 Questions, complaints or claims about Traf go to us, at the address at the top of these terms or hello@gettraf.app.
12. Law and disputes
12.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
12.2 If you have a complaint, please email us first. Most things can be sorted out that way.
